Homemade Coffeecake Baking Tips

Making a single-layer coffeecake is quick and easy, and frosting isn't even necessary. All that's needed is a simple sugar icing for this kind of cake to taste its best. Baking tips from Nestle recommend incorporating instant coffee granules into the cake, making it the perfect treat for coffee lovers.

The cake is easy to make by combining all the dry ingredients into a large bowl and the eggs, sugar and butter in another bowl. The coffee granules go in with the eggs and sugar, and add some vanilla and sour cream as well. Then you combine all the ingredients,and make the crumb layer separately. You spoon half the batter into a prepared pan, and top with half the crumb mix, then pour the remaining batter over the mix and top with another layer of crumb mix. You then just bake for 50 minutes, ice it with a confectioners' sugar glaze, and its good to devour.
